What Changes When You Choose Local
Locked In for 3 to 5 Years, or Free to Choose?
Sign up with TELUS SmartHome Security and you commit to a 3-year or 5-year service agreement. Cancel early and TELUS charges $15 per month for every month remaining on your term. Cancel in month 6 of a 3-year deal and that's a $450 penalty, before any equipment financing balance. MitchCo works differently. We don't need a multi-year contract to earn your business. You get transparent monitoring pricing you can adjust as your needs change.[1]
Your Equipment, Your Choice
TELUS SmartHome runs on a proprietary hub. If you ever leave TELUS, the panel stops functioning and either goes back to TELUS or gets billed to you at replacement cost. MitchCo installs open, industry-standard equipment. You own what's on your wall. No lock-in, no forced replacements, no rental returns.
A Local Team, Not a National Queue
Call MitchCo and you reach a real person working out of Chilliwack. We answer by call, text, or email during business hours, and we schedule service the same day whenever the call comes in before end of day. National providers dispatch through central scheduling systems built for volume. That works for someone who can take a full day off to wait for a technician. It's not built for a farmer who needs a camera repositioned before the crew arrives Monday morning.
Already with TELUS or ADT? Here's How Switching Works
TELUS purchased ADT Canada in October 2019, which means many "TELUS SmartHome" customers didn't originally choose TELUS at all.
If your term has ended, TELUS service converts to month-to-month, which means you can cancel with no penalty. Your existing wiring is almost always reusable, which lowers the cost of switching. We coordinate the timing so you're never without coverage.
